For many years, animal advocates have been supporting cats on the Baylor Campus.  The Animal Birth Control Clinic in Waco, TX, has been providing monitoring and veterinary care for these cats at no expense to Baylor.   Here are some of the cats that can be seen engaging with the students.

Meet Penelope

This 4 month old kitten was found at the McLean tennis courts in October 2025.  She was trapped, fixed, vaccinated and ear-tipped (TNR).  She was to be returned to where she was trapped, but a wonderful person adopted her to live out her life inside with other cats.  Follow along as we watch her acclimate to her new surroundings and see how an outside cat can learn to become an inside cat.

Day 1 - in her new home. She will remain in a kennel until she gets used to living with her owner and the other cats. She's already using the litter box, but she gets scared and will attempt to hide when it's time to change food dishes.

Day 5 - She moved from the back of the crate to the front.

Day 7 - She came towards my hand to sniff it.

Week 3 - getting to know the other cats

Week 3 - eating with the other cats
